Printing, embroidery, jacquard and burnt-out are all techniques frequently used in apparel fabrics and home textile products.
There are various patterns of apparel fabrics and home textile products on the market, and they are often decorated with printing, embroidery, jacquard and burnt-out words.
So, what is the difference between the four processes of printing, embroidery, jacquard and burnt-out?
Printing
Printing is to modulate various dyes and pigments into printing pastes, which are partially applied on the fabric to obtain various patterns.
Printing can be divided into reactive printing and pigment printing:
1. Reactive printing: printing formed by using reactive dyes to penetrate into the fabric;
2. Pigment printing: the printing formed by covering the fabric with paint.
Reactive printing fabrics have bright colors, good color fastness, soft hand feeling, long-washing and non-fading; paint printing and dyeing is to dye and print the fabric after weaving, generally easy to fade.
There are many options for printing patterns. Printing is mainly used for cellulose fiber fabrics, silk fabrics, chemical fibers and blended fabrics.
Embroidered
Embroidered fabric is a kind of fabric material, mostly pure cotton, lace, etc. Traditional fabrics are produced without any color and need to be dyed.
Embroidery fabrics are embroidered with machine embroidery patterns after dyeing. There are many kinds of embroidery, which can embroider various beautiful patterns, and is not easy to fade, and has good breathability and moisture absorption.
Embroidery can be divided into color embroidery and appliqué embroidery:
1. Color embroidery: generally refers to the embroidery technique of using various colored embroidery threads to carry out patterns and patterns. Its bright colors are widely used in clothing and bedding. Color embroidery is rich in color changes, and different color effects are produced through the overlap, juxtaposition, and interlacing of multiple colored embroidery threads. The trocar stitch method is the most distinctive. The color depths blend together and have the rendering effect of Chinese painting.
2. Applique embroidery: It is also called patch embroidery. The patch embroidery in Suzhou embroidery also belongs to this category. Cut the appliqué according to the requirements of the pattern and stick it on the embroidered surface. You can also put cotton and other things between the applique and the embroidered surface to make the pattern uplift and have a three-dimensional effect. After pasting, use various stitches to lock the edges, the embroidery method is simple and the style is unique.
Jacquard
The jacquard fabric is directly woven with patterns in the cloth, using warp yarns and weft yarns of different colors to interlace and interweave up and down to form patterns of different colors. Jacquard fabric can be divided into woven, warp-knitted jacquard and weft-knitted jacquard.
Weft-knitted fabric has good elasticity horizontally and longitudinally, while warp-knitted and woven jacquard have no elasticity.
The jacquard fabric has fine and smooth texture, good gloss, good hand feeling, good drape and air permeability, high color fastness (yarn dyeing), no deformation, no fading, and good comfort. Compared with printed and embroidered fabrics , The jacquard process is more complicated and the cost is higher.
Burnt-out
Burnt-out fabric, also known as embossed fabric, is a new type of fabric. Burnt-out fabric is made of two kinds of fibers with different acid resistance. After blending or spun into core yarn, it is used as warp and weft yarns to woven into burnt-out fabric grey fabric, and then through the printing and dyeing process, burnt-out processing is carried out in acid solution to make it not acid-resistant. That part of the fiber is dissolved and rotten, which becomes a burnt-out fabric.
The main features of this fabric are transparent, concave-convex patterns, novel patterns and clear outline appearance characteristics, which are similar to arts and crafts, and are well received by users and consumers at home and abroad. It is among the textile export products of my country and is welcomed by the international market. One of the varieties.
At present, burnt-out fabrics are mainly used as decorative fabrics, such as tablecloths, curtains, seat covers, bedspreads, pillowcases, summer clothing, handkerchiefs, etc. for room decoration.
